For anyone that's been wondering what's up with me and mine it's been crazy busy since we got back from Tucson.
I was working for a flower shop over Valentine's Day and had a blast doing it. I had to quit the working from home gig because they weren't guaranteeing me enough hours and they wanted a commitment for the Valentine's Day season that I couldn't swing. So I went to the local flower shop and she was happy to have me and even called me back to work for her the week after we got back from Tucson.
As for the tournament....we lost. 140 something to 60 something. We skated our asses off we were just up against a MUCH better team. Everyone says that we were mis-seeded. We should have played one of the lower ranked teams, but we at least scored 60 points. I'm so sorry to disappoint those that contributed to my trip. We learned a lot though and have been putting it to good use. Here's to next year!!!!
So since then it's been training and working and loving my husband and baby best I can. Hope all are doing well.

Come out and join me if you want. It's for a good cause. We're trying to get the travel team to Tuscon for the tourney in February. I'm part of the travel team and I really want to be able to go. Hope to see any and all of you there.

Hey folks!
My roller derby team, the undefeated High Seas Hotties, will be at the Tipperary Inn tonight for a fundraiser to send us to Houston on Sunday, October 1. We are going to play the Psyche Ward Sirens, the undefeated team from the Houston league. We will be doing Karaoke and having a raffle and just general hanging out and talking with folks. I believe it's $3 pints tonight, so come out and hang with the Hotties.

You can select a postcard created by kids to be sent to a military serviceman/woman overseas. Xerox is pringing them and sending them out. You cannot select who gets the card, but it's a cool thing to do.

09:10 am - We WON!!! We WON!!!!
My team, The High Seas Hotties, took the championship for 2006. It was not an easy game and the other team really made us work for it. We were behind in the first period for only the second time, ever. At the end of the first period we were ahead by only 2 or 3 points. The final score eludes me at the moment, but I think it was 70 something to 40 or 50 something. Not the usual rout by any means. So there ya have it.
Today we are off to Austin for the Governor's Cup. I made the travel team and we play against Houston on Sunday. I'm kinda nervous after all the brouhaha in Tuscon, but we'll see what happens. I think the team is better as a whole and we all feel a genuine closeness to each other in one way or another. I'll try to update when we get back. Just wish us luck and keep your fingers cross we advance past the first game.
